Research and Community Impact Program

The Program has a significant impact by generating local scientific evidence that guides interventions to improve kidney care in Puerto Rico. Through our educational kidney health fairs, we provide interactive workshops, free consultations, and informational materials to raise community awareness about kidney disease prevention and management, while promoting healthy lifestyle habits. We actively participate in other local health fairs, collaborating with various organizations to expand our reach. The Kidney Summit, a highlight event within this program, brings together health professionals, experts, and community members to share best practices in the treatment and prevention of kidney disease. This community-based approach not only seeks to reduce kidney health disparities but also improve the overall well-being of people in Puerto Rico. Additionally, we will soon launch a new initiative that will provide more resources and opportunities to strengthen kidney health on the island.
